What is the EU trusted list?
Each EU member state publishes a signed Trusted List (ETSI TS 119 612) of its qualified trust service providers. The European Commission ties them together in the List of Trusted Lists (LOTL). A certificate that issues qualified certificates appears on its national list as a granted CA/QC service.
What does this checker tell me?
Paste a certificate and it reports one of three things: the certificate is itself a granted qualified CA on a national list; or it is issued under a qualified CA (chains to one); or it is not on any EU trusted list. It also names the country and the trust service provider.
Which lists does it check against?
All national lists reachable from the EU LOTL, refreshed daily. The current count of qualified CAs and countries is shown above.
Is this a qualified validation?
No. It reports membership on the trusted lists, which is informational. It is not the full TS 119 615 status determination, and the lists' own signatures are not yet cryptographically verified (they are fetched over HTTPS from the official EU endpoint).
